Hi guys! It's the January 2015 edition of the Stuff to Do in Tucson thread! Use this sticky post to collect general stuff going on around town (including Tucson's surrounding areas) in January. You can still start new posts about an event, especially if you need help planning something. This will just serve as an easy reference. Comment with the details (date, time, location, admission fee, age restrictions, etc.) about any November event/gathering/get-together that you think people may be interested in and I'll update the text of the main post so people can easily see what's going on. Examples of good stuff to tell us about include:
Art shows/exhibits
Museum events
Musical acts/shows
Gaming get-togethers
Charity events for actual charities (not kickstarter-like campaigns for your startup xyz store)
Your band's upcoming gig (playing at a venue that isn't your house)
And more! Anythingadvertisinganyspecificproductoranythingillegalwillberemoved. JANUARY 1
First Day Hikes - various parks/hikes to choose from - park fees apply - see website for details
WEDNESDAYS Juggling Club - West of UA Old Main (under trees) - 4PM THURSDAYS Gallery Row ArtWalk - 3001 E. Skyline Dr - free FRIDAYS Tucson Amateur Dodgeball - Marana Sports Center - 8PM SUNDAYS Juggling Club - Himmel Park (near the library) - 4PM
All things considered...I can't wait to see Costa del Sol.
Given the amount of richness to detail and making Midgar feel like an actual city that is lived in, I have high hopes for the Resort town and Gold Saucer. I want to imagine Costa del Sol being a true Resort level experience, somewhere the team can drop in on occasionally and just rest, kick off their battle gear and play on the sands, catch some rays, hell maybe some mini games of volley ball or something. And Gold Saucer...god...lose entire nights inside there. Even better if they remove all in game clock function while you're inside the GS, make it feel like a real casino. No windows, no clocks.
